Florida Solar One Ramps Up Tesla Installations

Key West Solar Panel Installer Predicts Increases Tesla Installations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Key West, FL, January 2019 – The Florida Key’s premier solar installation company, Florida Solar One, ramps up their Tesla installations for electric vehicles. With the insurgence of electric vehicles in the Florida market, most notably the Tesla cars, it comes to no surprise that Florida Solar One has been getting multiple calls a day from customers wishing to install Tesla car charging stations at their homes. While every car comes with a cord that allows users to charge the car by plugging it straight into the 120-volt wall outlet, this process makes the re-charging process lengthy. Almost all customers choose to install a level 2 charger on their house to speed up the charging process. It is recommended to hire a Tesla electrician licensed and authorized to install the product in a safe and cordial manner.

“I am proud to be a top Florida solar contractor and an authorized Tesla electrician.” Said Ray Johnson, the president and qualifier of Florida Solar One. “There are many solar panel construction companies out there, and we focus on providing top quality craftsmanship at very reasonable prices, which is why Tesla chose us to be their authorized installers in the Florida Keys.” He added.

Level 1 is 120 volts, which is the standard household plug. Depending on the battery capacity, an all-electric car can require as much as a full day or more to go from depleted to fully charged. This comes standard with your new Tesla and no additional work is generally needed.

The next step up, Level 2 which uses 240 volts. Similar to an electric dryer outlet it’s the most common level used. This level comes standard with your new Tesla car, but typically requires a Certified Tesla Electrician install a 240-volt circuit in near proximity to the car. Also, very popular at Level 2 is a Tesla 40A or 80A Car Charger.  These require a Certified Tesla Electrician to verify that the electrical service in your home or business is adequate for these fast chargers. Once that is done, a permit may be applied for with the local building department and the installation is scheduled.  Level 2 chargers are the most popular and typically require between three to six hours to top up the batteries.

The third choice, Level 3, is direct current (DC), which requires a specific vehicle port. People recognize these as Tesla Super Charging stations.  One of these chargers can fill a depleted battery to approximately 85 percent in about an hour. These are rarely installed at a home, but instead can be found on the navigation screen in your Tesla.
