Conservative college students and young professionals are hosting a town hall meeting with Conservatives for Energy Freedom founder Debbie Dooley, Floridians for Solar Choice, and US Solar, showing yet again that solar energy is a bi-partisan issue that young people care about, and that solar options are wanted and supported here in South Florida. Right on the heels of the submission of the Florida Solar Choice ballot petition to the Florida Supreme Court for review, “solar in the sunshine state” is a hot button issue, being closely watched by political parties, utilities, and solar companies.
US Solar joins the meeting as a local representative of the solar industry. US Solar is a provider of solar equipment such as solar panels and complete solar systems, and is also a licensed contractor and solar installer. US Solar also has a solar training college, US Solar Institute (USSI), which hosts hands-on, advanced solar training sessions throughout the year. These different roles in the solar industry give US Solar a well-rounded perspective on the state of solar here in Florida, and they are looking forward to participating in this solar event.
Ray Johnson, owner of US Solar, is proud to call Florida home and thinks it is time for the people of the state to start living up to the “Sunshine State” name. “Through our solar installations and solar training, I see first-hand the demand for solar here in Florida” Johnson explained. “Homeowners and businesses are finally beginning to realize that solar makes sense financially and should be thought of as an economic asset.”
Tonight’s event will include presentations by Alex Bozmoski, Strategy Director at RepublicaEn, Debbie Dooley, Founder of Green Tea Coalition and Conservatives for Energy Freedom, and Tory Perfetti, Director for Floridians for Solar Choice and Co-Founder of Conservatives for Energy Freedom.
